Media Project: movie

1.     Every Jack has a Jill (Jusqu'à toi)
Romance / Canada, France / 82min / 29 May 2014 (released in Korea)
Director: Jennifer Devoldère
Stars: Mélanie Laurent, Justin Bartha

summary:
This movie is a love story between Jack, an American man who won the trip to Paris in a competition and Chloe, a France woman who returns to Paris after her work. Their luggage were swapped, and by accident Chloe got the Jack’s bag which his father left. Looking into the suitcase, Chloe was dreaming the ideal love with him, so she leaves several message photos to meet him. After he got the bag back and has been dumped by his girlfriend, he goes to see Chloe. At the end they do NOTHING "that the couples do", overcoming misunderstanding each other.

influence:
I think this couple is similar to my boyfriend and me because of similar personality, coincidence and situation. Jack and Chloe are too much alike in terms of phobia, Jack is scared of traveling and Chloe is scared of using machines such as phones, computers. My couple does not have a severe phobia like this couple, but we often pass too much time to decide something like where to go and what to eat. Also we met in student club which I made and coincidentally became close after a happening. Now we do NOTHING "that the couples do", overcoming misunderstanding each other.

2. A Case of You
Romance / U.S. / 89min / 22 May 2014 (released in Korea)
Director: Kat Coiro
Stars: Justin Long, Keir O'Donnell

summary:
Sam who is a writer cranking out movie novelizations, wants to write some different things and starts to write his own novel about his love with Birdie. After she was fired at cafe, he got to know her facebook thanks to a strange cafe owner who told him her full name. Studying the likes and hobbies listed on her facebook, Sam becomes the perfect man for Birdie, eventually she fell in love with Sam. But he becomes more and more burn out and this hurts her mind. With editor's advice, Sam confessed his love to her and they love each other.

influence:
My boyfriend always says "I'll meet your needs." or "I'll keep up with you.". Of course, he doesn't look into my facebook but he tries to know what I want. In this movie, Sam shouts "I'm exhausted!", and I worry it is the future of my boyfriend. Also Sam said "what the point is we are SO DIFFERENT! TOO MUCH!" in another scene, NOT having told her what HE likes. So I want to watch this movie again with my boyfriend saying difference is not the point.

3. Le Week-End
Drama / England / 93min / 1 May 2014 (released in Korea)
Director: Roger Michell
Stars: Lindsay Duncan, Jim Broadbent

summary:
This movie is about a British couple returning to Paris many years after their honeymoon there. During traveling, this couple is in danger of breaking up, because Meg wants to try such a different life from a teacher. But they overcame the troubles understanding each other and they are dancing together at the end.

influence:
This movie reminds me my parents and also I thought of my case. My mother sometimes has an argument with my father because of some different views on political or educational issues. But like this old couple, they return to routine as if nothing happened, having dinner together, sometimes hugging or kissing (not dancing). So I am acceptable to some arguing with my boyfriend but he isn't. He just wants to pass some problem putting off the mention, so this movie is the second one I hope to see again with him.
